What else do I need besides the camera?
You will need either 8xAA batteries or 4xAA batteries and a 12V battery, a SIM card, and an SD memory card. The camera is compatible with a prepaid SIM card, for example. Remember to top up the SIM card balance (the camera sends images to email using a network).
How do I download the trail camera app to my phone?
The inside cover of the package has a QR code for the app. You can also search for the trailcamera app in the Play Store. Enter the SIM card phone number into the app to receive the images sent by the camera on your phone.
If the SIM card is PIN-protected, the camera will ask for the SIM card’s PIN code. If the protection is disabled, no PIN code is required.
How long do the camera’s batteries last, and how can I extend battery life?
The camera operates with 8 AA batteries for up to 3 months, but battery life is affected by the season and camera settings. You can extend operating time with an external 12V battery (e.g., gel battery), a 12V power adapter, or a solar panel with a built-in 12V / 2A lithium battery.
When does the trail camera take pictures?
The trail camera starts taking pictures when the PIR motion sensors detect movement within the camera’s range. You can also request an image from the camera via the trailcamera app on your mobile phone; you don’t need to be near the camera to check the situation.
How do I know if the camera is taking pictures or videos?
If the camera is set to send pictures to your phone or email, you’ll receive a notification/image on your phone or email (if both settings are enabled, you’ll receive it on both). Video recordings are saved to the camera’s memory card, where they can be viewed.
How can I temporarily disable the camera if I don’t want it to record?
The app has a setting that allows you to adjust the camera to a non-recording mode.
